Life After Grad School

Halloween marks the maiden voyage of the new dress form that I bought at the Alameda Antique and Flea Market for $20! My LP’s boyfriend (wrap your head around that concept) is super crafty and was able to take a shower curtain and the broken office chair so that my lady form is on wheels - so as you can imagine, I think this Edwin fella is the cat’s pajamas.

Now with Fall almost here (it was nice knowing you San Francisco Summer) I can’t wait to start sewing again. Thanks to my homegirl, Leah, I was able to tailor her “Medussa” costume to fit me by adding some panels to the midsection and taking it up a few inches from the bottom.

The result is a (I can’t believe I’m about to say this) very flattering white crushed velvet Athenian gown. What? True story.
