Update: No 27. Pleasure reading.
Updating my “List of Awesomeness” No. 27: Pleasure Reading. To date I have read through the following books: The Help by Kathryn Stockett, Mary Tudor: Princess, Bastard, Queen by Ana Whitelock, and Unmaking the Public University: the Forty-Year Assault on the Middle Class by Christopher Newfield.
I’m looking for new book adventures.

Update: Accepting last minute invitations to AWESOMENESS!
I get a text from my homegirl Marla “GURL-check your gmail”. Then I see it- a no strings attached, free, and totally rad opportunity to go see Mr. Stevie Wonder.
I screamed for about 10 min. And without hesitation agreed to go. But here is the amazing part; I didn’t have to make the obvious decision to go and have to deal with the awful guilt that I normally felt when I was in grad school. I was just there enjoying the moment.
This was just an amazing opportunity and I had a fantastic time. Then my homegirl tells me that Valeria (my bestie and Marla’s g-friend) suggested that Marla take me because I am a Stevie fan. It made the experience that much rad-er because I know my boos look after me.
He played all the hits and we were singing and dancing the entire time. These are the moments that I just need to remember when the chips are down.
So grateful and blissfully happy that there is one less all time favorite artist I’ve seen live. Opportunity of a lifetime! Checkity check check!

No. 39 - Go to a Southern California beach with my ladies and watch super hot surfers. I wouldn’t hurt to have a tasty beverage and a fruit salad too.

No. 1: Sit in a coffee shop an read a magazine…DONE
Sunday, May 23rd was a unique day in a lot of ways. I met up with my homegirl, Sonia, at a coffeehouse and realized that the only thing I was planning on reading was the new issue of Ready Made Magazine. Just a magazine to read. Just for fun and having NOTHING to do with public administration.
I don’t think that the idea of completion has truly hit me, yet. But I look forward to crossing out, adding and amending my list of awesome-ness. Stay tuned.
For now you can consider:
No. 1: Sit in a coffee shop an read a magazine, book or go and people watch. Don’t be scared, I won’t watch you.Done! -
No. 34 Find this place and rent a house for two months.
